Automatic Mailing List will allow people to automatically subscribe and unsubscribe their e-mail address from your mailing list simply by sending you an e-mail. Automatic Mailing List will allow people to automatically subscribe and unsubscribe their e-mail address from your mailing list simply by sending you an e-mail. This CGI connects to any POP3 Mail account, checks each message for subscribe/unsubscribe requests, and then edits your mailing list e-mail file accordingly. The best part about using this system is that any e-mail that bounces back (after you send out a newsletter) can be automatically removed, making it easier to maintain a quality mailing list. Use AML to enhance an existing mailing list script, or see it do a great job by itself.Features: - Connects to any POP3 Mail server. - Will ignore e-mails that are not subscribing or unsubscribing from your mailing list. - Will subscribe/unsubscribe anyone who sends an e-mail to a specified address (such as subscribe@yourdomain.com) AND/OR has a specific word in the subject (such as "Subscribe me" or "Remove me"). - Adds and removes e-mails from the mailing list file you specify. - Will check to make sure a subscribing e-mail isn't already in the file. - E-mail addresses are not case-sensitive (Me@DOMAIN.com is recognized as the same as me@domain.com). - Notifies users by e-mail after they subscribe or unsubscribe. - Can automatically unsubscribe any dead e-mails that bounce back. - Optionally have messages deleted from the mail server after AML is done subscribing or unsubscribing them (it won't delete other messages by accident). - Run AML anytime you want from your browser, or use Cron to run it at specified times. - Optionally keeps a detailed log of all activity.
